Bedtime Story

I could still remember when I was still a child; Every time me and my mother went to bed early, she told me a lot of stories. My favorite and the one that I couldn't forget was her story about "signing of the cross". She was the one who taught me to make a sign of the cross every before sleeping and after I woke up in the morning. This story made me feel that signing of the cross is really important, that I need not to forget doing this every time I do those things I've mentioned.

Her story goes like this:

"There was a drunk a man who is about to went back to their house late at night. As this man was walking, he felt so sleepy, so he stopped at the middle of the road and said ,'I want to sleep!' Then, (this mas is catholic), he immediately made a sign of the cross. But unfortunately, before he pointed his hand at his right shoulder, he fell to the ground and slept. So, he made an 'Imaginary Unfinished Cross'. After a while, an evil spirit came and wanted to do something bad to the drunk man. But the 'Imaginary Unfinished Cross' shone as bright as the sun. The light threw the evil spirit away and saved him. The drunk man woke up from the ground in the morning without anything bad happened to him."

This story is for KIDS only! LOL. Yup! But its simplicity made me a true Christian, a true Catholic person. I was very thankful to my mother that she was able to share this kind of story to me. She molded my religious life even in her cute little way. Mothers really know best.

It is very nice to know that each one of us still didn't forget our experiences with our mothers, our parents. Every simple things that was shared by them really made a marks in our minds and in our hearts. Let's love our parent guys more than we love ourselves because we are nothing in this world without them.

I hope that this one made you smile, brothers and sisters. SMILE! SMILE! SMILE! Because only smile can brighten your day.
